At the National Guitar Summer Workshop 1996, it came to a special kind of meeting between the new yorker guitarist and singer Matt Smith and Phillip Moehrke. Matt was the guitar teacher and Philipp responsible musical director of the rhythm section for the teachers concerts. Despite their different musical backgrounds these two exceptional musicians harmonized this well, that in the next few years several tours in Europe should follow. Matt Smith describes his relationship with Philip as "My brother from a nother mother!"

In the summer of 2002 the idea came up to make a CD with jazz songs which should reflect the rich vocal range of Matt Smith. Philipp worked over a year on the arrangements, which then has been recorded by some of the most excellent musicians in Germany. From duo to big band is all represented in this production. A CD is never boring, but never pushy. Capture felicitous!
