When cultural life came to a standstill in mid-2020, I pulled a number of composition sketches that had been left out of the drawer, then completed them, arranged them and finally pre-produced them. Surprisingly, the bundle together resulted in a harmonious, homogeneous whole, which was almost predestined for a new album.

The selected compositions mainly use simple song structures and a lot of blues harmony, hence the title “Simple Songs” chosen for the album. It was a pleasure to work with musicians with whom I have been friends for a long time. They recorded their voices one after the other in their own studios, creating an attractive “musical chain letter” in which the next person to record always responded to the tracks of the previous one and the songs slowly became homogeneously intertwined.
A big thank you to everyone involved for their dedicated work on this album, which brightens up the standstill in live music.
